Starting early in the morning to hike to The Window was a good plan--it's a two and a half-hour hike with a 900-foot rise in elevation, culminating in a breathtaking panoramic view--worth every drop of sweat and every creak of the knee. In my painting, Window at Big Bend, abstract, angular shapes and scrapes in heightened colors capture the essence, the soul of this place. Although it's difficult to capture the awe of being there, I'm happy to have tried.
I'm showing details of the work here in addition to the main image, as well as a photo of how the painting would look in the home, framed or unframed. (Frame not included.)
