Painted en plein air at La Romita School of Art near Terni, Italy.
La Romita's olive grove is planted on the hillside behind its ancient buildings, just beyond the clotheslines. I enjoyed the contrast of the dark green cypress tree against the silvery light foliage of the olive trees. The "golden hour" made for beautiful shadows raking across the ground.
