Family Of Origin

This painting features a young woman at the cusp of adulthood, ready to be independent and self-sustaining. She knows it's her family who has nurtured her to this point. What is her future? Who will she become? I limited my palette and kept it muted to evoke a nostalgic mood and the sense of a faded photograph. This inspiration for the painting came from a picture from the family archives.
