I often paint figures alone in a space, being attracted to the simplicity and power of the human figure’s shape. In In Unison, the sharing of color between the woman and her environment expresses a oneness with the natural world. In an age when humans are increasingly disconnected from nature and its rejuvenating energy, green, the color of renewal and harmony, provides a sense of fleeting coolness in a turbulent, warming world.
