A visit to the 4H Ranch in a county south of where I live proved to be a visually rich environment. Out in the pasture, I knelt down to shoot reference photos of hay bales in storage to eventually be fed to livestock. A day later, the itching began from the dozens of chigger bites acquired from this one small act. The hay will be food for cattle, but I was food for the chiggers. Ah, to suffer for one's art!
